My children and I love these horses (especially my two year old who yells at every horse she sees). I just printed all the locations so that we can take our own little 'tour of horses' this weekend. This is a great project and good for the whole community.

My son and I have a fun new game - I plan our errands with the horse locations in mind so that he can spot as many horses as possible on each outing. We seem to find a new one each time we go out! Thank you to all those whose hard work made these horses possible. Especially the artists - the artwork is truly astounding and inspiring.

Any thoughts on selling small reproductions, as the Cow Parade did?

I would like to thank the Mane Event Leadership Steering Committee for the wonderful opportunity to be part of this historic public art project. I feel very honored and proud. Thank you to the community for supporting the arts and us, your local artists in our endeavors to make Wichita Falls a more beautiful city. To me it has been pure joy.

The horses are absolutely stunning works of art! I saw new details every time I looked at each one. What a visionary project to enhance the beauty of our wonderful community. I look forward to seeing the horses around town. Thank you Leadership Class of 2007.

Thanks, icreate, for interest from the metroplex! You've highlighted one important next step now that our fabulous horses are here ... getting the word out to surrounding cities. Soon the website will have information so that anyone can plan a tour of the horses. It will be a trip worth taking!

Looks like a neat project. Very hard to figure out what it is about and who and why they are benefiting...a lot of missed opportunities with no mechanizing and reporting. Did you do any news releases to the DFW area. I understand these things are hard to do and can be overwhelming...The art looks great and hope to come to see it.

I am getting concerned about the coming weather. Will the parade go ahead and take place. I am afraid we may not make it to the parade and I want to buy some merchandise ???

Wow! Thanks for your enthusiasm! This project is like those in the other cities you name where the communities have been so proud of the public art displayed throughout. You are going to be astounded at the talent of our local artists -- their work is breathtaking, whimsical, thought-provoking, masterful -- come see the horses on September 13!

I'm so excited about this! I saw the cows in Chicago in 1999 and have been taking pictures of painted animals ever since. I have cows (Chicago), buffalo (OKC), horses (Louisville, KY), catfish (Nashville, TN) and another fish from Germany. This is a fantastic fund raiser for the community! Great job!

Great merchandise supports The Mane Event: from "wearables" like polo shirts and ball caps, to practical 18-month calendars and note cards featuring the beautifully painted horses, to the fun "paint your own pony" kit! Mugs and cocktail glasses and a large color poster showing the vivid details ... with all profits going to the 3 downtown projects.

Dark Horse, from what I've seen and heard these horses can't fit in a sack.

Tell me more about the merchandise you will be selling. Will it be sold at the events? Great project! Good job!

Please attend the grand unveiling Sept 13 at the parade downtown, beginning at 10am, followed by a big party on the Kemp Center grounds. Then, be on the lookout for horses all over town the next 6 months, before a gala auction next March. We believe folks will travel here just to see them ... and be impressed with Wichita Falls' community pride!

Wow! Thanks for these positive comments. We hope many people will respond just like you, boosting Wichita Falls pride while raising money to benefit the three downtown charities you see listed.

I have been seeing horses moving around town. Where can I go to see them? How many will there be? I've seen other projects like this and each one left me with a strong feeling of community spirit. I hope they all stay here in Wichita Falls!
